Shenzhen Hong Kong Pui Kiu College Longhua Xinyi School (Hereinafter referred to as PKXYS) offers both Hong Kong and Mainland of China curriculum, with an International Department established within the Hong Kong curriculum for the secondary section. Students can apply for both our Hong Kong curriculum and International curriculum at the same time. The structure allows Grade 9-12 students to choose different paths between the International and Hong Kong curriculum, which caters for students’ needs when they advance to higher grades, paving the way for admission to their desired universities.

International Curriculum in Secondary Section

In Grade 9-12,IGCSE and A Level are the core courses of the International Department. On this basis, we collaborate with the DSE (Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education) faculty to develop school-based courses in order to satisfy diverse and personalized academic needs for students advancing to higher grades. In Grade 9-10, students must complete six IGCSE courses, sit in exams, and progress to Grade 11 for a two-year A Level programme which prepares them for university applications in major countries and regions such as the UK, the United States, Australia, Canada, Singapore, and Hong Kong. Throughout the way, students can choose suitable course selections for the next stage based on requirements and their own strengths with the ground of their experience in the DSE and IGCSE courses. In addition to A Level courses, we also offer the IFY (International Foundation Year) programme in Grade 12, providing a comprehensive course options.

Achievements in University Admissions

The IFY programme of Pui Kiu Collage HK(PKCHK) and PKXYS have seen fruitful results in 2023 admission and 2024 conditional offers. In the application of overseas university, each student secured admissions to 5 universities on average, including the University of Edinburgh, the University of Sydney, the University of Manchester among other world-renowned universities. Over 80% received offers from the top 50 universities, while over 90% of students secured admissions to the world’s top 100 universities. Through the international curriculum, 10 students were accepted by the universities in Hong Kong, including the University of Hong Kong, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, the City University of Hong Kong, and the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Their chosen majors covered biomedical sciences, aerospace engineering, speech therapy, computer finance, architecture and real estate, food science, veterinary medicine, etc.

Personalized Planning and Whole Person Development

Starting from Grade 9, our professional counselling team will provide one-on-one guidance to students, helping them to plan in details and set up milestones in three dimensions: English language, academic subjects and activities and competitions. In addition, weekly college counselling classes are held for students to systematically learn university information and improve personal planning skills. We also encourage students to join academic competitions such as the American Mathematics Competitions (AMC10 and AMC12), the Physics Bowl, the Model United Nations Business Competitions, the International Economics Olympiad (IEO), the National Economics Challenge (NEC), and the UK Chemistry Olympiad (UKChO), to expand the boundaries of their academics.

We value students' holistic development, encouraging them to explore their academic interests and their professional aspirations, and actively take on social responsibilities. By participating in activities such as volunteering work, laboratory research, professional practice, internship programmes, online courses and projects offered by world-renowned institutions, and online research-based learning, students will have each and every achievement recorded through the Duke of Edinburgh International Award. Additionally, the school has many clubs, providing a wealth of extra-curricular activities in sports, science and arts. Our students have achieved remarkable results in many areas.
