2023-2024學年的第一學期剛剛結束，我校便迎來豐富的學術收穫。中學部學生在數學、物理、化學和生物全球學科競賽上獲得超過40個獎項。在學科老師的悉心指導下，在不斷的討論和理論探索中，學生不但加深了對理科知識的理解，也大大提升了學科素養，表現出對學習的自信和積極態度。

The first term of the 2023-2024 school year has ended with us reaping MORE THAN FORTY awards from various competitions of mathematics, physics, chemistry and biology. Under the guidance of our teachers, and through discussions about theories, our students further developed the knowledge, enhanced physics literacy, and throughout the process, they also have equipped themselves with confidence and a right attitude towards their own learning.

Introduction to the competition

英國物理測評（初級）由英國物理奧林匹克組委會主辦。始於1979年，1983年正式為英國選拔國家代表隊參與國際物理奧林匹克活動。題型涵蓋動力學、電力、光學、熱力學、波、單位、少量天文學等各種主題，目的是培養初中生對物理的學習興趣，提高學生的參與度，鼓勵他們在未來進行更多的物理測評活動。

Junior Physics Challenge (JPC) is organized by the the British Physics Olympiad Organising Committee. It was initiated in 1979, and has been used as a qualifier for the selection of the UK Physics Team for the International Physics Olympiad since 1983. The topic of the questions ranges from Dynamics, Electricity, Optics, Heat, Fundamental Units, Waves, and Astronomy. The main objective is to create fun, encourage involvement and inspire passion for physics among students. It aims to inspire middle school students to learn physics, observe, practical skills and critical thinking.

此次32名培僑學子參與比賽並摘得全球獎項，獲獎率達100％！一共獲得了15個全球金獎（Global Gold），9個全球銀獎（Global Silver），8個全球銅獎（Global Bronze）。他們分別是：

On 16 December 2023, our students actively participated in the Junior Canadian Chemistry Olympiad (JCCO).

Introduction to the competition

加拿大化學測評（初級）是一項由加拿大化學學會主辦，開放給初、高中生的競賽。作為加拿大化學奧林匹克的初階測評，目的是讓更多化學愛好者可以體驗化學的魅力並瞭解加拿大頂級的化學學術活動。題型涵蓋化學計算、結構與性質、熱力學、反應動力學、酸和鹼、少量有機化學等各種主題。學生可以進一步參加加拿大化學測評系列的其他競賽。

Junior Chemistry Olympiad (JCCO) is a competition organized by the Chemical Institute of Canada (CIC), open to junior and senior high school students. As the first of the Canadian Chemistry Olympiad series, it aims to promote interest in chemistry and raise awareness of one of the most prestigious chemistry competition in Canada. The topic of the questions ranges from chemical calculations, structure and properties, thermodynamics, kinetics, acid and base, and organic chemistry. Candidates are encouraged to participate in other competitions in the Canadian Chemistry Olympiad series.

競賽介紹

Introduction to the competition

英國生物測評（中級）是一項有由英國皇家生物學會官方支持的競賽活動。它面向高一、高二年級，是英國生物測評的初階活動。这項生物測評不僅考察學生的生物學知識，還鼓勵他們在校內課程外繼續學習生物科學。成績優秀者將增加世界名校醫學、生物學等理科專業的申請優勢。

The Intermediate Biology Olympiad is hosted by UK Biology Competitions (UKBC), supported by the Royal Society of Biology (RSB). It is open to Grade 10 and 11 students and tests their knowledge of biology. Students will continue to be given ample opportunities to explore and study bio-science beyond the curriculum so as to prepare them for their tertiary education in the fields of medicine and biological science.
